DAYDREAM LOVES
16th.february.2015
16th.february.2015
On a long bus ride
wanting to escape loneliness
passing countless underground stations
I fall in love with the shadows
appearing and disappearing tunnel after tunnel,
almost forgetting bothersome flickering lights.
Later, I fall in love with a stranger
checking her cellphone, tall with a boy-cut
full of silence like this bus car,
i’m sure she’s checking the news
or a lover’s text-message
all those passing things we build essence from.
Somewhere between downtown San Francisco
and Ocean Beach we surface
I fall in love with a cloud as she travels above
graceful beauty in her aloof whiteness
that winds push north,
soon I fall in love with the memory of your voice
heard many nights, close and lifetimes away
giving nothing as I sit on this bus dreaming,
looking up again, I fall in love with a seagull
flying high, one with the blue
I want to go where she is going
to imagine a world below growing small
but I can’t go there, I leave the bus, last stop.
Walking down cold streets
I fall in love with salt air I now smell,
full of the sea, dark green, cold depths
i want to be surrounded by,
writing eternity all over my body.
Later I fall in love with the first wave I see
magnificent blue nothingness,
sitting on a dune watching this day travel beyond my hands
forgetting all I’ve lost.
