A New Year...
2014 is underway, I have been working on a longish poem that I hope to post in the next few days. Over the holidays I took a train down to Santa Barbara, on that long trip I finished re-reading Louis MacNiece's autobiography The Strings Are False which I greatly enjoyed as he is one of my poetic heroes along with his friends W H Auden & Stephen Spender. I am now tackling Elizabeth Bishop's One Art which is a collection of her letters & I have found them very insightful, inspiring, and interesting especially her friendship with the poets Marianne Moore & Robert Lowell. Happy New Year everyone...more poetry is on its way!
